OUR DEMOLITION TEAM

RCD Demolition maintains a team of experienced professionals who are committed to upholding the strictest of demolition safety practices. Each new project is handled by our expert field management team:

  • Estimator: The estimator coordinates the project with the client and develops the bid. Once the bid is approved, the project is turned over to the field management team.
  • Project manager: The project manager oversees the entire operation and plans the appropriate way to approach each demolition site.
  • Field manager: The field manager hand-picks the best workers for each jobsite, depending on their particular skills and expertise, and the unique challenges of the jobsite.
  • Field crew: Each crew member has undergone safety training and equipment usage training. They execute the tearing down of the structure and the removal of all of the construction debris.

OUR PROCESS FOR DEMOLITION PROJECTS

Over the years, RCD Demolition has perfected our approach to demolition projects, with an eye toward safety hazard identification and client satisfaction. Here’s a quick look at our process:

  1. Site assessment: The estimator conducts the site assessment and develops the bid for the project.
  2. Pre-demo meeting: The field management team meets to discuss the scope of the work. Another purpose of the pre-demo meeting (also called the pre-construction meeting) is to assess structural issues, consider the presence of hazardous materials, and ensure the safety and integrity of utilities present onsite.
  3. Pre-task planning: After the pre-demo meeting, the pre-task planning process delves into the details of the project. The project manager generates an engineering survey of the site and/or structure to identify potential hazards. Then, the team conducts job safety analysis of the individual demo tasks (also called a hazard task analysis). Its purpose is to explore whether hazardous materials are present on site and to consider the unique challenges of the jobsite. The pre-task planning process also involves strategizing the best approach to the project.
  4. Crew selection: The field manager puts together the best crew for the job.
  5. Project execution: The crew and field management team complete the project to the client’s specifications. In some cases, a punch item-walk may be called for. The project manager will do a thorough walk-through with the client to discuss any outstanding items or detailed tasks to address issues that may have come up during the course of the project. The work will also be compared with the construction renderings.

HOW WE HANDLE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS /
ASBESTOS TESTING REPORT

RCD Demolition maintains a team of experienced professionals who are committed to upholding the strictest of demolition safety practices. Each new project is handled by our expert field management team:

During the job safety analysis, our team will accurately identify potentially hazardous materials, if any, on the jobsite. If there are any hazardous materials, such as asbestos, our team follows strict internal guidelines for dealing with them. We work in conjunction with hazardous materials removal teams, ensuring the complete safety of each jobsite before proceeding with the demolition process. On the rare occasion that our workers encounter hazardous materials that were not identified during the job safety analysis, they are trained to immediately stop work and initiate sampling and testing of the suspect materials. If the testing of the suspect materials comes back positive, then abatement measures are taken before commencing with demolition
